Questions

Questions after a storm

Who do I call first, the insurer or you?

Call both, in any order. If water is coming in, call the tarp line first: we can cover the opening while you start the claim. Your insurer will tell you what it needs from you.

Will the insurance company pay for the tarp?

Many policies pay for reasonable steps to stop more damage, but yours decides. We photograph and list the tarp work on its own line so you can send it with your claim.

Do I need to wait for the adjuster before you tarp?

No. Take photos first, then cover the roof. Waiting while rain keeps coming in usually makes the damage, and the claim, bigger.

Homes built before 1978: is there anything different?

Homes built before 1978 may have lead in old paint. Tell us the year when you call. If we will disturb painted surfaces, we follow the EPA's rules for that work.

Does someone on the crew speak Spanish?

Yes. Demetrio and Yamileth do, and so does Guerline. Ask for any of them when you call.

Can I use my own adjuster or another contractor's estimate?

Yes. Our estimate lists the work line by line so you can compare it with anyone else's.

What should I keep for the adjuster?

Broken tiles, damaged items and the old window glass if it is safe to store. Photograph them first.

How soon can work start after my claim is approved?

Permits and product lead times set the date. We give you a written schedule when you sign.

Can I choose the color and style?

Yes. Your insurer may pay for like-for-like, and you can pay the difference for something else. The estimate shows both.

Do you test for mold?

No. In Florida the company that tests can't also do the removal, so we point you to a separate assessor.

Still have a question?

Call the tarp line or send a message.
